Dr. Garthwaite’s passion for veterinary medicine began early. As a pre-teen, he volunteered at a local animal clinic and quickly fell in love with every aspect of the work. The perfect blend of medicine, problem-solving, and the opportunity to help save animals' lives sealed his career path.

He has a special interest in emergency medicine. While the pace can be fast and unpredictable, Dr. Garthwaite finds it deeply rewarding to be there when pets and their families need support the most. He also enjoys veterinary ultrasound, internal medicine, and pain management.

Dr. Garthwaite lives in the Lehigh Valley with his wife, Dr. Ruth Garthwaite, their daughter, and their two quirky Devon Rex cats, Sasha and Spencer. Outside the hospital, he stays active with golf, motorcycling, and other outdoor pursuits.
